Today we start the 29th

Yesterday was our 28th anniversary. Doesn't seem that long until I look back on all the things that have happened in that time. How can people make it to 50 years together? or even 75. Not that married life is hard, life is hard. People who make it have busy guardian angels working overtime for them!

It was nice to go to church together and see all the kids, and all the new faces. We have lots of visitors from Winston Salem and others who come to our church from surrounding churches. Today our musical talent expanded with a trio of brass instrumentalists.

After church we gave the kittens a treat. We put their harnesses and leashes on and then while Cheri got lunch and supper ready I helped Solomon watch them.

They enjoyed exploring the front yard and hiding in the long grasses next to the sidewalk. When they would try to go away from the area, their leashes would trail behind them and Solomon would go and capture the leash then bring it back, with kitten attached.

When I finally opened the door to the house, all three ran inside. They truly are "Fraidy Cats"

We packed up the car and headed for Stone Mt. No this isn't in Georgia, but in the western part of North Carolina. We were with part of the Winston Salem church group, which seems to recently have grown to include individuals from Mocksville and other local visitors. We took Maggie and Oreo with us, using a new hammock that is supported by the cars head rests. It made the dogs more comfortable as well as confining the dog hair to a specific location - not the car seat.

When we got back to the upper falls, it appeared we had arrived at a dog convention. No two dogs were alike. Oreo, unlike the last time we were there, was only afraid of one man we met along the trail. This time she was out in front trying to meet everyone, and we had to keep her on a leash or calling her back within sight.

The dogs were worn out as we returned home and slept all the way to our house. Now they need a bath!
