Summer project.

It is difficult to realize the amount of weight that is in a sidewalk. This one is made from 80 lb bags of premixed Quikcrete.
Each form needs one bag of mix. So this sidewalk is about 12 bags long and two bags wide. Or to put it another way, over 1/2 a ton of weight! That doesn't include the steps.

The concrete takes about two weeks to cure and lose the dark coloration. Some of the rock shapes had to be free-formed because the form wouldn't fit the space I needed to fill.

Oh, and the new paint on the porch and steps as well as the new five step enterance were also done this year.

Now I need to figure out how to join the rocks to the bricks in a pleasing manner. Then I will go back to the top and come down the left side with another row of "rocks".

Yes, Lynks managed to get a paw print in one of the rock faces. I will let you find it!

looks good! looks like lynks approves! is her paw print in the second-to-last picture and in the biggest "rock" of the last set? she always finds a way to leave her mark, doesn't she?

It is near the bottom on the right side of the second-to-last photo. I am not sure which rock now.

Wow, it looks great! I'm really impressed. I think Carrie and I need to come live close to you so we can learn how to do all this stuff. Maybe she knows some of it already but I don't!
